This month we’re featuring Native Plant Solutions, a core part of this project that is focusing on developing native gardens in urban spaces to create functional landscapes to better the health of the Blue River and its communities.

Trying to figure out alternative ways of how to get to the World Cup games in KC? Bike along the Blue River Greenway, check out our #RenewtheBlue restoration sites, and avoid the traffic on your way to the game!

We found out early yesterday that the @kansascity made this temporary bike trail signs and racks to help fans get to Arrowhead Stadium easier for FIFA games, but it’s such a cool way to showcase the natural beauty of KC and encourages people to get outside! Our Renewing the Blue project signs will also be going up in the coming weeks so be on the lookout!

We’re so grateful to the @thewestportgardenclub for submitting a proposal to @thegardenclubofamerica to recommend that Heartland Conservation Alliance receive their Club Civic Improvement Commendation for our work in the Blue River watershed.

Last week our Board President Ian Fannin-Hughes accepted the award on HCA’s behalf.
